Securities Operations Associate

The OpportunityWe are seeking a detail-oriented Securities Operations Associate to join our capital markets lifecycle support team. This role is designed for a professional looking to build deep expertise in the mechanics of global trade environments. You will be responsible for ensuring the seamless execution of daily securities and cash-related production work while contributing to the overall risk-mitigation goals of the firm.
Core Responsibilities1. Trade Lifecycle & Operational Support
Process Management: Participate in essential lifecycle tasks, including client account onboarding, cash payments, funding operations, and custodial services.
Settlement & Reconciliation: Build expertise in securities settlement services, structured loan operations, and general ledger reconciliation to ensure financial accuracy.
Production Monitoring: Monitor daily cash and securities workflows to ensure all time-sensitive transactions are processed according to established service level agreements.
2. Issue Resolution & Research
Technical Research: Review tactical issues and procedures, conducting research and evaluation to resolve low-complexity operational challenges.
Data Synthesis: Gather and analyze data to support the resolution of business risks and enhance customer satisfaction through improved service quality.
Escalation Handling: Resolve escalated issues within the scope of security operations, exercising judgment within defined parameters and consulting with management when necessary.
3. Strategy & Process Improvement
Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process enhancements and contribute to the implementation of new or revised procedures.
Cross-Team Coordination: Collaborate with peers, internal stakeholders, and external customers to achieve operational goals and support broader business strategies.
Project Support: Perform analysis for strategic initiatives and help coordinate implementation efforts across various operation teams.
Experience: 6+ months of experience in Securities Operations, or equivalent demonstrated through professional work, specialized training, military experience, or education.
Capital Markets Knowledge: A foundational understanding of key capital markets products and their progression through the trade lifecycle.
Risk & Compliance Fluency: Strong awareness of risk concepts, internal controls, and compliance protocols.
Technical Proficiency: High proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (advanced functions/data analysis) and PowerPoint (professional presentation creation).
Collaborative Mindset: Ability to consult effectively with colleagues and managers to achieve shared objectives.
Detail Orientation: Rigorous focus on reviewing time-sensitive documents and transaction requests with zero-error tolerance.
Adaptability: Demonstrated ability to develop an understanding of various functions and policies in a dynamic, high-volume trade environment.
