Voice Test and Implementation Engineer
Your key responsibilities:
You will be part of the Fixed Voice Test and Implementation team as a Voice Test and Implementation Engineer,supporting the Lab networks for Sky Talk and the internal telecom corporate network, covering a multi-vendor network of fixed line platforms, elements, systems and services.
Supporting the Sky Programme management team, Voice design team and multiple vendors in the test and delivery projectsfor new network elements.
Creating and reviewing test plans and test case execution, artifact collection and report writing.
Monitor the Lab network and resolve issuesfor our internal and external customers, identifying root causes of problems and outlining appropriate solutions.
You will raise, support tickets with multiple vendors and track them through to resolution.
Ensure all routine maintenance procedures, software updates and upgrade activities are adhered to according to the specified Sky procedures and change practices.
Responsible for creating procedures such as troubleshooting guides, upgrade and migration processes used within the Sky organization.
Championing continuous improvement by identifying areas that could benefit from automation of processes.
Your skills:
Strong previous background working in telecommunications industry.
Experience in a test and integration environment
Experience and knowledge working with the Nokia IMS, Ribbon C20 and Nokia Telco Cloud platform architecture and interworking principles in order to support associated services
You should have good communication skills to work with other areas of the business
Knowledgeable in voice switch translation and UK & ROI dial plans
Knowledgeable in voice protocols, including SIP, H248 and Diameter
Experience of server operating systems, IP and in the use of Wireshark.
Excellent ability to work in a pressured real-time environment.
Analytical mind-set and approach to problem solving, network changes
