The Opportunity

We are seeking a Senior Commercial Real Estate Underwriting Coordinator to join our CRE functional area. This role is essential in supporting the full lifecycle of commercial real estate finance, including servicing, underwriting, and asset management. You will work as a high-level liaison between borrowers, internal departments, and senior underwriters to ensure that data collection is accurate, compliant, and optimized for credit decisioning.

Core Responsibilities

1. Underwriting & Asset Management Support

  • Functional Servicing: Provide comprehensive support to the underwriting team by performing moderately complex transactional and operational tasks.

  • Asset Oversight: Assist in the ongoing monitoring and management of commercial real estate assets within the portfolio.

  • Credit Review: Analyze credit reports and financial data provided by borrowers, ensuring that all information meets strict internal and regulatory standards.

2. Coordination & Client Engagement

  • Stakeholder Liaison: Work closely with senior underwriters and various internal departments to coordinate efforts that meet specific client needs.

  • Customer Interaction: Interact directly with external customers to understand their financing requirements and provide high-quality service.

  • Internal Collaboration: Partner with the immediate team on daily operational activities to ensure a seamless workflow and timely deal processing.

3. Compliance & Operational Integrity

  • Regulatory Alignment: Ensure all collected borrower data adheres to current lending regulations and institutional policies.

  • Process Excellence: Execute administrative and operational tasks with high attention to detail, receiving guidance from supervisors to align with strategic customer satisfaction goals.

Required Qualifications
  • Experience: 4+ years of professional experience in Commercial Real Estate Underwriting or a closely related functional area.

  • Equivalency: Demonstrated experience through a combination of professional work, specialized training, military service, or advanced education.

Key Skills & Competencies
  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to interpret moderately complex credit reports and financial documentation.

  • Communication: Strong interpersonal skills for daily interaction with both internal functional teams and external clients.

  • Organizational Mastery: Exceptional ability to coordinate multiple tasks across different departments while meeting strict underwriting timelines.

  • Risk Awareness: A solid understanding of the regulatory landscape surrounding commercial real estate and credit data requirements.
