Investment Operations Associate

Location: Pune, India Experience: 1–5 Years Post-Qualification

The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated Investment Operations Associate to join our global alternative investment management platform. This role is a critical bridge between complex investment strategies and operational execution. Reporting to the Director of Investment Operations, you will manage the full lifecycle of investment transactions across corporate securities, structured credit, and hard assets.

This position is designed for a Qualified Accountant who possesses a rare blend of technical accounting rigor, legal document interpretation skills, and a proactive business-partnering mindset.

Core Responsibilities

1. Operational Management (75%)

  • Transaction Lifecycle: Provide end-to-end support for investment transactions, including the setup and management of complex new deal structures.

  • Systems & Data: Coordinate all aspects of transaction booking and ensure data integrity within internal systems.

  • Reporting & Analysis: Prepare and manage sophisticated operational reporting, providing insights into transaction performance and process health.

  • Treasury & Valuation: Assist with transaction valuations and contribute to treasury liquidity projections and requirements.

  • Complex Problem Solving: Research and resolve intricate issues related to deal expenses, reconciliations, and operational workflows.

2. Business Partnering (25%)

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with internal Legal, Risk, and Compliance teams to provide operational input on transaction documentation.

  • External Relations: Act as a key point of contact for external accountants, tax advisers, and auditors.

  • Strategic Foresight: Identify potential operational bottlenecks and proactively communicate solutions to management to mitigate business impact.

What We’re Looking For

Qualifications & Experience

  • Professional Certification: Must be a Qualified Accountant (CA, ACCA, or equivalent) with 1–5 years of post-qualification experience.

  • Technical Skills: Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, with a focus on data modeling and complex financial analysis.

  • Domain Expertise: Experience in interpreting detailed legal documents and an understanding of alternative investment structures (e.g., credit cycles, loan portfolios).
