Sr. Manager Application Engineer
Role Overview
This role owns the strategy and delivery of Renesas Hardware Support Packages,spanning MBD platforms, middleware foundation, and peripheral enablement.
The position blends technical leadership, execution excellence, and governance to scale high‑quality MBD solutions aligned with customer and business objectives.
Accountability includes defining multi‑year roadmaps, establishing quality and governance frameworks, and building high‑performing teams to expand MCU/MPU
platform coverage while deepening peripheral blocksets capability across current and next‑generation Renesas devices.
Key Responsibilities
Own the Renesas Support Package charter, delivering Renesas‑specific MBD enablement on top of Renesas specific Hardware Support Package.
Drive platform breadth by scaling support across Renesas MCU and MPU families through variant creation.
Drive technical depth by developing high‑quality peripheral blocksets and MBD solutions optimized for Renesas architectures.
Establish clear interfaces, ownership boundaries, and release alignment with MathWorks while maintaining independent Renesas delivery accountability.
Build and scale a dedicated Renesas team to reduce time‑to‑market and improve customer experience across MATLAB releases.
Qualifications
Experience creating and delivering custom MATLAB/Simulink blocksets or target support package solutions for a semiconductor solution.
Solid understanding of MCU/MPU ecosystems, including hardware abstraction, peripheral enablement, and release governance.
Experience leading complex, cross functional product or platform development from concept through production release, including multi-year roadmap.
Demonstrated ability to drive platform level technical and business decisions, balancing user experience, quality, timetomarket, and cost.
Excellent stakeholder management and executive communication skills.
