Senior CIB Portfolio Manager
In this role, you will:
Portfolio Surveillance: Participate in monitoring, documenting, underwriting, and reacting to the credit quality of an assigned portfolio of loans within the Corporate Banking Portfolio Management functional area.
Strategic Planning: Contribute to large-scale planning related to functional area deliverables.
Risk Evaluation: Review and research moderately complex business challenges that require an in-depth evaluation of multiple factors.
Team Leadership: Resolve moderately complex issues and lead a Corporate Banking Portfolio Management team to meet project deliverables while leveraging a solid understanding of the functional area, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
Collaboration & Mentorship: Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and mid-level managers to resolve issues, achieve goals, lead projects/teams, or serve as a mentor for less experienced staff.
Experience: 4+ years of experience in Corporate & Institutional Banking (CIB) Portfolio Management, or equivalent demonstrated through a combination of work experience, training, or education.
Education: At least an MBA or an equivalent postgraduate qualification.
Core Experience: 4+ years of experience in credit analysis, portfolio management, debt research, corporate lending, or structured finance (corporate loan analysis or CLOs).
Technical Skills: Advanced Excel and strong analytical skills.
Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to clearly and concisely speak on complex topics, backed by robust business writing skills.
Interpersonal Skills: High level of personal motivation, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to effectively collaborate across global teams and continents.
Execution: Proven ability to work in a fast-paced production environment, juggle a variety of tasks, and manage time effectively. Comfortable working both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Financial Analysis: Conduct financial statement analysis covering various trends, including computing key performance and leverage ratios for leveraged loans.
Deal Summarization: Read and understand credit agreements of loans to summarize key deal terms and structural mechanics.
Performance Tracking: Analyze loan portfolio financial performance and trends, including reporting on troubled loans, losses, and recoveries.
Compliance & Covenants: Review monthly client reporting to check for completeness and accuracy of financial calculations, including covenant compliance testing.
Surveillance Reporting: Track and report on financial trends of the client or bank-issued loans, and prepare monthly and/or quarterly surveillance decks for senior leadership review.
Data Management: Maintain internal databases and spreadsheets for robust portfolio reporting.
Workflow Coordination: Train and mentor junior colleagues, review and oversee their analytical outputs, and undertake team workflow planning.
Domain Asset: Experience in Asset-Backed Finance (ABF) is highly preferred.
Professional Credentials: CFA (Level I, II, or III) or CA / CS / CWA / FRM certifications.
Automation Skills: Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel & PowerPoint) with direct experience utilizing Macros, VBA, or coding for process automation.
