Senior Linux Workplace OS Developer / Administrator
Location- Delhi NCR, Pune (Hybrid) however, employee should be able to travel or reach at office location once in month or as required by business.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Linux Workplace OS Developer / Administrator to join our team on a contractual basis, working with Technology & Services Organization. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain enterprise-level exposure, working on large-scale, globally managed Linux workplace environments in collaboration with cross-functional engineering teams.
Role Overview
As a Senior Linux Workplace Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining a consistent and scalable enterprise Linux user experience across multiple distributions. You will work closely with our core engineering teams and user community to ensure stability, automation, and seamless integration within a managed client environment.
This role provides hands-on experience in enterprise workplace engineering, automation at scale, and modern Linux platform development.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, implement, and maintain enterprise Linux workplace environments across distributions such as Ubuntu, Debian, Fedora, and Enterprise Linux
• Establish a standardized and consistent user experience without building or maintaining a custom Linux distribution
• Develop and maintain automation frameworks using Puppet / OpenVox, along with advanced shell scripting
• Manage the end-to-end Linux client lifecycle, including provisioning, configuration, patching, and decommissioning
• Ensure adherence to enterprise security, compliance, and hardening standards
• Work in an inner-source / open-source-style environment, maintaining transparent documentation, architecture decisions, and communication
• Collaborate with global engineering teams, platform owners, and user communities to continuously enhance the Linux workplace platform
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives, focusing on automation, performance optimization, and platform reliability
• Support troubleshooting and resolution of complex enterprise Linux client issues Required Experience
• 8+ years of experience in Linux system administration or Linux workplace/client engineering
• Strong expertise across major Linux distributions (Ubuntu, Debian, Fedora, Enterprise Linux)
• Hands-on experience with configuration management tools such as Puppet / OpenVox
• Strong proficiency in shell scripting and automation
• Proven experience in designing and managing enterprise-scale Linux client environments
• Familiarity with open-source collaboration models, documentation practices, and transparent decision-making
• Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills
Nice to Have
• Experience with large-scale enterprise Linux workplace deployments
• Knowledge of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure automation
• Exposure to endpoint management, device compliance, and security frameworks
• Experience working in globally distributed teams
