Your key responsibilities

As the E3 Asset Engineer for Service Asset and Configuration Management within Group Service

Management, you will:

• Establish and continuously evolve the strategic framework, operating model, and

governance for technology asset lifecycle data—ensuring the right mix of people, processes,

tools, and automation capabilities to deliver enterprise-grade insights.

• Act as a strategic partner to Group Service Management and cross-functional leadership

teams, influencing decisions through data-driven insights and ensuring alignment with

enterprise service, risk, and financial objectives.

• Own and be accountable for enterprise-wide data integrity, including:

• CI relationships and service topology accuracy

• Infrastructure and service mapping fidelity

• CMDB data quality and completeness

• End-to-end asset inventory accuracy

• Drive proactive governance and compliance, identifying systemic breaches in ITSM

Configuration & Asset Management policies, and leading remediation strategies through to

measurable closure.

• Lead risk visibility and optimization initiatives, delivering advanced reporting and insights

on technology asset lifecycle risks, cost efficiency, and value realization across the

organization.

• Champion data quality excellence, ensuring timely, accurate, and actionable reporting;

proactively identifying data gaps and orchestrating resolution through accountable data and

process owners.

• Provide strategic analytics on asset lifecycle activities, enabling leadership to make

informed decisions on cost optimization, risk mitigation, and value maximization.

• Partner with Finance and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality data and insights

supporting budgeting, forecasting, business cases, and investment optimization for digital

technology assets.

• Drive end-to-end lifecycle alignment across Software Asset Management (SAM),

Hardware Asset Management (HAM), Data & Content Management, and IT Asset

Disposition—ensuring seamless integration and accountability across domains.

• Serve as a thought leader and evangelist, promoting the strategic importance of

Configuration & Asset Management across the enterprise and influencing adoption of best

practices and standards.

Lead the automation agenda, embedding a digital-first mindset by leveraging automation, AI

driven insights, and tooling innovation to enhance efficiency, scalability, and business value.

Behaviours and Competencies

• Strategic thinking — An understanding of strategic business objectives and the ability to

develop a vision and strategy for ITSM configuration & asset management and execute it

effectively to drive results toward those objectives

• Interpersonal skills — Proven ability to collaborate, build relationships and influence

individuals at all levels in a matrix management environment (as well as external vendors

and service providers) to ensure that segregation and overlapping roles are identified and

coordinated

• Strategic relationship management — Includes working with software vendors during

license compliance audits

• Strategic vision — Ability to sense emerging needs and drive change as ITSM Configuration

& Asset Management develops and matures to meet organizational and technology

challenges

Skills:

• Strong knowledge and use of configuration & asset capabilities of industry recognised

ITSM platform (ServiceNow preferred)

• Strong communication skills with a proven ability to understand key business and technical

concepts, and then effectively communicate these concepts with technical staff, business

stakeholders and senior management

• Strong organizational skills, the ability to perform under pressure and to manage multiple

priorities with competing demands for resources

• Strong analytical, data processing and problem-solving skills

• Proficiency in process formulation and improvement

• Ability to read and interpret contracts to properly manage digital technology, which includes

license and maintenance agreements
