Application Engineer
Job Description:
The Application Engineer is responsible for installation, Validation, training, breakdown troubleshooting, calibration, and repair of laboratory / medical diagnostic equipment at customer sites. The role demands high technical competence, strong customer handling skills, and the ability to operate independently in geographically dispersed locations.
Location: Gurugram
Key Responsibilities: -
Perform installation, commissioning, and validation of equipment at customer sites.
Execute scheduled preventive maintenance as per guidelines.
Diagnose, troubleshoot, Replace perform system calibrations.
Maintain detailed service records, job cards, and visit reports in the service management system.
Field Operations: -
Travel extensively within assigned territory to attend application calls, installations, and PM visits. If assigned to any particular site playing role of application as well as helping customer to raise supplies in coordination with sales team.
Plan field schedules effectively to meet response and resolution time commitments.
Carry required spares, tools, and documentation to ensure first-time-fix wherever possible.
Customer Support & Communication
Provide technical guidance and basic operational training to customer staff.
Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through professional conduct and timely resolution.
Communicate clearly with customers regarding root cause, corrective actions, and preventive recommendations.
Escalate unresolved issues to regional / technical support teams as required.
Compliance & Quality
Adhere strictly to company safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
Follow EHS guidelines during site visits and equipment handling.
Ensure documentation is accurate and audit-ready.
Coordination & Reporting
Coordinate with logistics, spare parts, application, and regional support teams.
Submit daily / weekly service reports, expense claims, and travel plans.
Support management with technical inputs and field feedback.
Qualifications & Experience
Bsc/Msc degree Life science/Biotech/Biomedical or Equivalent
0-2 years of hands-on experience in field application in IVD industry.
Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Willingness and physical ability to travel extensively across multiple cities and remote locations.
Key Skills & Competencies
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
Sound knowledge of electronics, electromechanics, and basic software diagnostics.
Customer-centric attitude with good communication skills.
Time management and planning capabilities.
Comfortable working under pressure and in non-standard working hours when required.
Working Conditions
Extensive domestic travel (approx. 75%).
Field-based role involving long hours, site constraints, and frequent movement.
May require emergency call-outs, weekend support, and overnight stays
