Role Overview
This position is the technical owner of the core layer for Renesas Hardware Support
Packages, enabling MATLAB/Simulink workflows across Renesas MCU families.
This role architects and delivers critical platform capabilities such as External Mode,
PIL, scheduling infrastructure, and code generation integration, and ensures robust
integration with compilers and toolchains. The role partners closely with external and
internal experts to maintain compatibility with evolving MATLAB releases and to keep
the platform scalable and maintainable.
Key Responsibilities
Architect and lead development of MW HSP foundation components including
External Mode, PIL, Scheduler, and CodeGen integration.
Guide integration of compilers, toolchains, and Renesas MCU families,
ensuring reliable build/deploy workflows.
Perform deep architecture reviews, troubleshoot escalations, and provide
technical direction to senior engineers.
Own GitHub release workflow, validation strategy, and long‑term
maintainability (branching, CI expectations, regression readiness).
Collaborate with MATLAB/MathWorks and Renesas experts to ensure
compatibility with the latest MATLAB releases and alignment to platform
strategy.
Qualifications
10+ years in embedded software/platform engineering, with strong ownership
of foundation/middleware layers.
Proven experience delivering support packages / BSP/HSP‑like enablement
for MCU platforms (toolchain + build/deploy + debug workflows).
Strong hands‑on expertise with MATLAB/Simulink MBD workflows, Embedded
C/C++, and system‑level debugging.
Deep understanding of toolchains, compilers, linkers, and embedded build
systems, plus performance and robustness considerations.
Experience defining release processes, validation/regression strategies, and
driving long‑term maintainability of a platform.
Added Advantage
Direct experience with External Mode / PIL / code generation integration
for embedded targets.
Experience collaborating with MathWorks or maintaining compatibility
across MATLAB releases.
Exposure to Renesas semiconductor products, ecosystems and related
enablement artifacts (targets, board definitions, workflows).
