Job Summary: Senior Institutional Investment Operations Representative

The Senior Institutional Investment Operations Representative ensures the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of market data and instrument reference data, acting as a crucial link between front-office trading and back-office settlement. This role involves managing complex data sets—including security identifiers and static data—to mitigate operational risk and support regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Data Integrity & Management: Responsible for the validation, maintenance, and enhancement of instrument reference data (static data, pricing, and entity data) to ensure a "golden copy".

  • Market Data Support: Monitor and manage daily feeds from market data vendors (e.g., Bloomberg, Reuters) to ensure accuracy.

  • Operational Risk Control: Proactively identify, raise, and remediate data breaks and exceptions, escalating issues to technology, business, or compliance teams.

  • Trade Support & Reconciliation: Process complex institutional trades, reconcile transactions, and support collateral management or OTC derivative confirmation.

  • Process Improvement: Lead initiatives to automate processes, improve data governance, and increase efficiency using Lean principles.

  • Audit & Regulatory Compliance: Support audit requirements, adhere to regulatory reporting standards (e.g., Dodd Frank, MiFID II, QFC), and maintain procedure documents.

  • Mentorship: Provide guidance, training, and work direction to less experienced staff.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Experience: 3-4 years of relevant experience in Institutional Investment Operations, specifically within market data, static data, or reference data roles.

  • Capital Markets Knowledge: Strong understanding of capital markets products (Fixed Income, Equities, Derivatives) and the trade lifecycle.

  • Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, data manipulation) and familiarity with data management tools.

  • Analytical Skills: Proven ability to research, compile, and perform complex analysis on operational data.

  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business field preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Bloomberg, Reuters, or internal data management systems.

  • Experience in client onboarding, KYCs, or regulatory reporting within Corporate Investment Banking.

  • Understanding of OTC derivative products (Rates, Credit, Commodities)
