Job Summary: Senior Institutional Investment Operations Representative
The Senior Institutional Investment Operations Representative ensures the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of market data and instrument reference data, acting as a crucial link between front-office trading and back-office settlement. This role involves managing complex data sets—including security identifiers and static data—to mitigate operational risk and support regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Data Integrity & Management: Responsible for the validation, maintenance, and enhancement of instrument reference data (static data, pricing, and entity data) to ensure a "golden copy".
Market Data Support: Monitor and manage daily feeds from market data vendors (e.g., Bloomberg, Reuters) to ensure accuracy.
Operational Risk Control: Proactively identify, raise, and remediate data breaks and exceptions, escalating issues to technology, business, or compliance teams.
Trade Support & Reconciliation: Process complex institutional trades, reconcile transactions, and support collateral management or OTC derivative confirmation.
Process Improvement: Lead initiatives to automate processes, improve data governance, and increase efficiency using Lean principles.
Audit & Regulatory Compliance: Support audit requirements, adhere to regulatory reporting standards (e.g., Dodd Frank, MiFID II, QFC), and maintain procedure documents.
Mentorship: Provide guidance, training, and work direction to less experienced staff.
Required Skills and Experience
Experience: 3-4 years of relevant experience in Institutional Investment Operations, specifically within market data, static data, or reference data roles.
Capital Markets Knowledge: Strong understanding of capital markets products (Fixed Income, Equities, Derivatives) and the trade lifecycle.
Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, data manipulation) and familiarity with data management tools.
Analytical Skills: Proven ability to research, compile, and perform complex analysis on operational data.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with internal and external stakeholders.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business field preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Bloomberg, Reuters, or internal data management systems.
Experience in client onboarding, KYCs, or regulatory reporting within Corporate Investment Banking.
Understanding of OTC derivative products (Rates, Credit, Commodities)
