Job Description – Senior Commercial Real Estate Underwriting Coordinator

About This Role

The Senior Commercial Real Estate Underwriting Coordinator supports the Commercial Real Estate Underwriting function in servicing, underwriting, and asset management activities.

The role involves coordinating with internal teams across underwriting, servicing, and asset management to ensure efficient client servicing and high-quality delivery of commercial real estate transactions.

In This Role, You Will
  • Support Commercial Real Estate Underwriting activities including servicing, underwriting, and asset management

  • Collaborate with senior team members to understand client requirements and coordinate across multiple internal departments

  • Perform moderately complex administrative, operational, and transactional tasks related to underwriting processes

  • Review borrower credit reports and ensure data accuracy and regulatory compliance

  • Work under supervision to understand client needs and ensure high customer satisfaction

  • Coordinate with internal teams on daily operational activities

  • Interact with external clients to understand requirements and support service delivery

Required Qualifications
  • 4+ years of Commercial Real Estate Underwriting experience OR equivalent experience through work, training, military experience, or education

Desired Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

  • Professional certifications in Finance/Accounting/Economics (preferred)

  • Experience in Commercial Real Estate / Multifamily Capital underwriting or pre-screening

  • Experience in mortgage underwriting (conventional and FHA products)

  • Strong understanding of Government Sponsored Entities (e.g., underwriting guidelines and processes)

  • Knowledge of Commercial Real Estate domain fundamentals

  • Familiarity with third-party reports such as appraisal, property condition reports, environmental reports, and flood determinations

  • Strong proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio

  • Ability to handle high-volume work within strict deadlines

  • Strong teamwork and communication skills

  • Flexibility to work across multiple processes and assignments

Job Expectations
  • Analyze property financial statements, rent rolls, operating statements, and loan documents

  • Evaluate property performance based on tenant data, cash flows, and market conditions

  • Build proforma models based on historical and market data

  • Identify and escalate inconsistencies in loan and property documentation

  • Review third-party reports (appraisal, inspection, property condition reports) to assess asset quality and risks

  • Update loan and collateral systems accurately

  • Document and synthesize findings from reviews

  • Work across multiple processes and manage tight deadlines

  • Review work outputs and provide feedback to team members

  • Collaborate with risk and compliance teams to mitigate process gaps

  • Work with global stakeholders and resolve escalations

  • Prepare performance reports and operational dashboards

  • Support onboarding and mentoring of new team members

  • Maintain quality and productivity standards consistently
