KYC Analyst
Structured hybrid role:

The Merchant Services Transaction Cycle will partner with BI to provide seamless payment solutions for
business customers (including processing of merchant payments, credit finance solutions and corporate credit
cards). These solutions will be underpinned by technology and business processes that are simple, cost
effective, automated and digital.
About [Barclays Payments Merchant Services)
Barclays Payments Merchant Services (BPMS) is a Voice & Back Office process and offers services like
resolving client requests for technical help in relation to Point of Sale terminals which include Diagnostic,
Troubleshooting and Fault Resolution and offer services for resolving Financial request relating to a client’s
Accounts which include processing and settlement of rejected transactions, financial queries, Reconciliation,
Settlement queries, Statement Queries, Account Amendments, transaction fees, etc. Apart from this the back
office consist of Data Servicing which is Operational day to day management of disputes processing for
Barclaycard Payment Solutions (UK & International acquiring) and commercial cards & prevention of
chargeback’s as a result of point of sales transactions with a focus on impairment losses and Processing and
settlement of rejected transactions, financial amendments and the associated reconciliation of accounts in line
with both card schemes and internal governance and control frameworks. Another aspect is application
processing which is day to day management supporting application processing for Barclaycard Payment
Solutions. Responsible for data entry and KYC in relation to processing applications. Process capabilities may
increase with time and are not limited to only mentioned above
Overall purpose of role
Analysts in KYC teams are responsible to perform reviews of KYC documents from clients so as to
independently assess, whether Client Due Diligence Policy and regulatory requirements have been
adhered to.
Provide exceptional customer service on behalf of Barclays and follow the Barclays Values
Use personal initiative in developing resolutions to quality checks by investigating ,ensuring solutions
satisfy both the customer and the business
The role holder may be required to work flexibly across a variety of different activities included in the
KYC programme
Key Accountabilities
Take ownership of cases as defined in Barclays Group Minimum Standards.
To effectively investigate cases with varying degrees of complexity and know when to escalate cases of
a high degree of complexity and ambiguity.
To engage and take ownership of the case putting yourself in the customers shoes
To capture accurate information and details through the case handling process to allow effective
analysis of the case in a timely manner.
To maintain and manage individual tasks on a daily basis to ensure that case related tasks are dealt
with effectively and within relevant timescales.
To clearly communicate requirements to other business areas when information is required to resolve
case

Person Specification
Excellent written and verbal English language skills required along with in depth knowledge of Global KYC policies
and procedures (End to End KYC Knowledge and Experience)
Excellent track record during past work experience
If Internal – should have completed 12 months in their current role and presently at a BA2 or BA3 Grade
Last - year PD rating of Strong or above & Should not be on active CAP/DAP
Essential Skills/Basic Qualifications:
Graduate/Post-Graduate in any discipline
Flexibility in hours of work and ability to work changing shifts patterns
Demonstrable knowledge and experience of delivering exceptional customer service
Knowledge of case handling procedures ideally from a financial background
Highly developed communication and influencing skills through multi-channels
Proven problem solving and decision making ability
Ability to break down complex issues, assimilate & analyse information and reach a conclusion
Collaborative approach to handling issues
High level of quality awareness and accuracy

Proven KYC Operational Background/Experience of working with Financial Crime
Preferred 3-5 years of relevant KYC experience
Knowledge of regulatory and risk requirements relating to customers.
Prior experience in Operations & Team Handling
Any expertise of handling Voice & Non-voice teams in Merchant operations
Awareness of industry recognised process automation tool sets / capabilities
