Overall purpose of role

The Data Product Owner is responsible for defining, prioritising, and delivering high-quality data products as

part of the programme within UK Corporate Banking (UKCB). The role acts as the bridge between business

stakeholders, data consumers, and technology teams to ensure data products are aligned to strategic

business outcomes, regulatory requirements, and customer needs. The Data Product Owner drives the

end-to-end lifecycle of data products, from ideation and requirements gathering through to delivery,

adoption, and value realisation, enabling trusted, reusable, and scalable data assets that support

commercial, operational, risk, and control use cases across UKCB.

Key Accountabilities

Essential Skills/Basic Qualifications:

 B.E./B.Tech degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.

 Strong experience in data analysis, data profiling, and translating business requirements into actionable

insights.

 Advanced SQL skills with hands-on experience in complex queries, data validation, and performance

optimization.

 Good understanding of Data Warehousing concepts, data models, ETL processes, and data quality

principles.

Desirable skills/Preferred Qualifications:

 Experience with Databricks for large-scale data processing and analytics.

 Knowledge of dbt (Data Build Tool) for data transformation, modeling, and testing.

 Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word for analysis and stakeholder

communication.

 Familiarity with modern data platforms, cloud-based analytics environments, and data governance practices.
