Class Actions & Proxy Analyst

Operating within Institutional Investment Management Operations, this Pune-based role provides middle and back-office support for a leading global asset management firm. Supporting onshore U.S. teams, the analyst oversees proxy voting administration, class action claim processing, and quality control functions to ensure regulatory compliance and client account accuracy across capital markets.

Core Responsibilities

  • Proxy Administration & Quality Control: Perform primary verification of proxy voting executed by portfolio management groups, cross-referencing decisions against third-party research, advisement emails, and internal voting guidelines. Generate daily reports on unvoted meetings and submit ad-hoc, monthly, and quarterly voting reports.

  • Class Actions Processing: Manage claim filings, trial balance runs, case certifications, proof-of-claim (POOF) generation, buy/sell side data alignment, address corrections, and class action deficiency reviews.

  • Operational Leadership & Oversight: Serve as a subject matter expert by maintaining end-to-end procedural guides, training new joiners, identifying process improvements, and monitoring workflow health to eliminate operational errors.

  • Stakeholder & Client Support: Address private client inquiries, coordinate with external vendors and custodians, and escalate non-routine operational issues in a timely manner.

Qualifications & Key Skills

  • Education & Experience: 4-year undergraduate degree (preferably in a business-related discipline) with at least 2 years of work experience in financial services or financial analysis.

  • Domain Knowledge: Core understanding of capital markets, corporate actions, proxy voting mechanics, and the surrounding legal/regulatory landscape.

  • Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, particularly MS Excel for data analysis and reporting.

  • Professional Competencies: Exceptional attention to detail, strong verbal and written communication, proactive problem-solving, and the ability to work independently under tight operational deadlines.
